On Feb. 11, arts leaders came from across the Commonwealth to celebrate the public value of the arts and to thank legislators for their continued support of the Kentucky Arts Council. Checks were presented to organizations awarded Kentucky Arts Partnership operational support grants by the Arts Council in July 2014. The Fund for the Arts for the Arts received a $41,123 grant from the Kentucky Arts Council for the 2015 fiscal year.
Each February the Kentucky Arts Council hosts Arts Day in Kentucky, an annual opportunity for artists, teachers, organizations and those interested in the arts to celebrate what’s happening in the arts across Kentucky and network with state and regional counterparts. The event is held in Frankfort.
“When Arts organizations from across the bluegrass come together in the Capitol to collaborate and celebrate, great things happen” said Fund for the Arts President & CEO Christen Boone. “We value the support we receive from the Kentucky Arts Council which allows us to improve quality of life in the Commonwealth.”
2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the executive order – given by then Gov. Edward T. Breathitt in 1965 – establishing the Kentucky Arts Commission, today known as the Kentucky Arts Council.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, fosters environments for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
