Community to HIGH FIVE for the Arts
Fund for the Arts encourages community members to donate and challenge five friends to give a HIGH FIVE for the Arts

LOUISVILLE, KY, JUNE 26, 2017- Louisville, KY is well documented as the original home of the high five. Today, Fund for the Arts embraces that rich tradition by launching a “HIGH FIVE for the Arts Challenge” where individuals donate $5 or any amount, post a short video to social media giving a high-five and challenging five friends to also donate and share their videos. The goal is to raise $50,000 over the course of the final five days of the 2017 annual Fund for the Arts campaign. Prizes will be distributed at random to those who submit their videos via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #HIGHFIVEforthearts. Community members can make their donations now via http://bit.ly/2gMwu1o.

Throughout the week, the regional arts nonprofit will share how the arts positively transform Greater Louisville while inspiring members of the community to give generously and get involved. In their posts, individuals are urged to share which arts experiences they care about most or would like to see more of throughout the region.

“Who doesn’t love to get a high-five?” asked Christen Boone, Fund for the Arts President and CEO. “This is a fun and simple way to ensure that every member of our region can experience the transformative power of the arts. We are thrilled to close our 2017 campaign by encouraging everyone to give a high five and contribute any amount he or she can to fuel a stronger, more vibrant city through the arts.”

Prizes include an original work of art, tickets to a “Power of One” benefitting the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation, tickets to the 2018 Awards in the Arts, a PNC Broadway in Louisville package that includes tickets, dinner, and more. Community members do not have to donate to be eligible to win prizes.
