The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft offers a variety of art camps throughout the year for your creative kid!
SUMMER CAMPS
Full Day $200 / $170 Family KMAC Members
Half Day $100 / $85 Family KMAC Members
All summer camps are half day (9am-12pm or 1-4pm) or full day (9am-4pm) except Clay Sculpting from Second Life. Drop-off is from 8:30 to 9 am. Pick-up is from 4 to 4:30 pm. An extended pick up option is available from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. The cost is $10 per half hour. Bring a packed lunch and drink each day. Snacks are provided. Questions? SCULPTACULAR! CLAY CAMP
June 16 – June 20 (Ages 5-8)
June 23 – June 27 (Ages 8-11)
Kids will learn a variety of clay techniques through this week long clay and sculpture camp. Campers will learn slab building, coil building, functional and nonfunctional design, glazing techniques and more. Projects are fired by professional artists in our on-site kiln. This camp also incorporates non-clay projects and three-dimensional sculptures.
KMAC SUMMER ART STUDIO AT BLACKACRE
July 7 – July 11 (Ages 11-14)
Middle school students have the opportunity to work intensively with professional artists to complete four different in-depth art projects and learn about working artists over the course of this week-long camp. Please note, this camp is held each day at Blackacre Nature Preserve.
MIXED MEDIA MANIA
July 21 – 25 (Ages 5-8)
July 28 – August 1 (Ages 8-11)
Young artists will get the chance to explore their creativity with a different art medium each day during this week-long camp. Kids will be introduced to an array of art media, such as fiber, wood, paint, paper, printmaking and more.
CLAY SCULPTING FROM SECOND LIFE
August 4 – 8 (Ages 14-18), 1pm to 4pm
Designed specifically for high school students, this week-long camp focuses on sculpting from still life. Taking cues from the upcoming summer exhibition SECOND LIFE, which stems from the animal study work of John James Audubon and the art of taxidermy. Students will work directly in the KMAC galleries and art studio to make clay studies from observation of animal anatomy and human head
