15205811917_d7161fca1a_zThe Fund for the Arts has announced its 2015 fundraising campaign theme: #ArtIs.  The hashtag #ArtIs is already beginning to appear on social media platforms and in print around the community.  The Fund is using the hashtag to open a conversation about how Art is defined by the individual.

“Art can be something different to everyone,” said Fund for the Arts President & CEO Christen Boone. “It is through this defining discussion that we can better understand our community and serve it more effectively.”

The Fund has been taking its campaign to the streets, appearing at NuluFest, schools, and workplace campaigns.

“It’s a community Art project. You can’t help but feel inspired by the words people choose. But it’s more than that — the faces, the smiles and the creativity define what Art truly is,” said Ashley Spurlock, director of Workplace Campaigns.

The Fund for the Arts has always used campaign themes to inspire giving. In recent years themes have been: “Extreme”, “Tap into the Arts” and “Invest in the Arts”.

“This year is more than just a theme,” said 2014 Fund for the Arts Campaign Chair Tom Partridge, President & CEO of Fifth Third Bank. “We are inspiring a movement, opening a dialogue, and creating Art itself with #ArtIs. My hope is that everyone will participate. We have made it easy for them to do just that. All you need is a camera and a piece of paper.”

The Fund for the Arts is inviting the community to participate in the #ArtIs discussion by visiting www.FundfortheArts.com/ArtIs and submitting their own photos, filling in the blank:

Art is ______________.
