LOUISVILLE, KY, JULY 21, 2015- The Fund for the Arts announced the creation of a Fund for the Arts Labor Advisory Council Tuesday evening at a meeting of the Greater Louisville Central Labor Council. The Fund for the Arts Labor Advisory Council (LAC) will help enable better communication between the Arts community, Labor Leadership and Union members in the workplace to encourage engagement and increase the impact of the Arts in the lives of members and their families.
“This is an exciting new partnership between the Fund for the Arts and Labor to ensure the Arts has deep reach and the greatest impact where it counts – in the lives of all of our neighbors and families,” said Christen Boone, President and CEO of Fund for the Arts.
“Making Louisville a great place to live and improving the quality of people’s lives are values shared by the labor movement and the Fund for the Arts making this a natural and long overdue partnership,” said Todd Dunn, Greater Louisville Central Labor Council President.
The LAC will meet quarterly to collaborate and determine actions to ensure Union members have greater access to the Arts and awareness of educational and community outreach opportunities in the region.
