The Fund for the Arts President & CEO will advise the Private Sector Council
Members of Americans for the Arts, the leading organization for advancing the arts and arts education in America, have elected Christen Boone, President & CEO of the Fund for the Arts, as a member of their advisory council for the Private Sector Council. Boone will advise Americans for the Arts’ staff on developing programs and services that will build a deeper connection to the field and the network membership.
In the Private Sector Council, Boone will work with fellow arts leaders to develop and implement private-sector advocacy programs and serve as leaders to other local arts agencies seeking to connect with the private sector.
“The partnerships that create success begin with common goals. Arts organizations and corporations find those common goals through education and quality of place,” said Boone. “I am excited to work with Americans for the Arts and share the Louisville model for success with Arts leaders across the nation.”
Throughout her career, Boone has been an active community connector, social entrepreneur and a leader in nonprofit development and strategic philanthropy.
“The success of our organization is dependent on leaders in the arts and culture industries, such as Christen Boone, who are willing to dedicate their time and expertise to work with peers across our country to shape national programs and messages and help craft services for states, communities and local organizations,” said Robert L. Potential council members were nominated in early October and were voted on by members of Americans for the Arts through November 12, 2014. Boone will serve a three-year term, from Jan. 1, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2017.
