Abby ShueLOUISVILLE, KY, MARCH 9, 2015 – The Fund for the Arts is excited to announce that Abby Shue has been named as the new Director of Corporate Relations. The position will focus on expanding and enriching Fund’s corporate partnerships throughout the region.

“Abby Shue brings to the Fund a vision for how the Arts can best partner with our business community,” said Christen Boone, Fund for the Arts President & CEO. “She joins the team at a critical time in the campaign and will drive the message that corporate and creative find a unified voice, a more educated workforce, and a growing economy through the Arts.”

Corporate donations make up 31% of the Fund’s annual budget. The Fund hopes to redefine traditional corporate partnerships and engage the business community in a greater conversation about improving quality of place. The Fund for the Arts will be driving new initiatives important to the corporate community, including talent attraction and employee engagement.

“The Arts brought me to Louisville; the Arts are why I stayed,” said Shue. “I am deeply committed to this city and have a passion for working to bring the arts to every corner of our region.”

Shue moved to Louisville in 2009 after graduating from Butler University in Indianapolis. Having spent the majority of her life as a ballet dancer, she was excited to begin her career in arts administration in a community with such a vital arts scene. As Vice President of The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts she oversaw board relations, government relations, strategic planning and management of the Center’s renowned contemporary art collection. Abby is very involved in the Louisville community, having served on the boards of Young Professionals Association of Louisville, Hope Scarves and Actors Theatre’s interACT, and having graduated from Leadership Louisville and Leadership Kentucky programs. In 2012, she was named a Business First of Louisville Forty Under Forty honoree and was recently selected by Vanderbilt University to receive the full-tuition scholarship for a nonprofit executive to participate in the Executive MBA program.
